Eden celebrated her second birthday a few weeks ago. I can't believe my baby is two years old! It seems like just yesterday we were bringing her home from the hospital.
I have learned some things about birthday parties over the years. I remember being completely offended that my entire family did not attend Zoë's first birthday. We even had the party in Spokane so everyone could come! I won't lie, I was mad for at least two years about that one. In hindsight, it was not a big deal. Zoë doesn't even remember her first or second birthday and neither will Eden. That is not to say that I didn't try to make her birthday extra special, but I didn't feel the need to make it a big production. I make no promises about her next birthday. I'm thinking something along the lines of this. Tu-tu adorable, right?! I just happen to have an in when it comes to tutus. In fact, I may have a tutu addiction. They are literally overflowing from the girls' closets. I still believe that you can never have too many tutus.
Just because I wanted Eden's birthday to be low-key, didn't mean it wasn't going to be cute. And it certainly didn't mean that the party printables weren't going to coordinate with her dress. (Oh yes, I did.)
I cannibalized (sorry, Em!) one of Eden's tutus to decorate our cupcake tower and love how it turned out. And yes, I created party printables that coordinated with Eden's dress. The colors were just too fun not to. I'll have to get a picture of the entire dress. DARLING! And yes, the printables will be in my store soon along with a few other darling designs I have been working on.
Eden loved her little party. One of her favorite things to do is sing "Happy Birthday" to her dolls and animals and pretend to blow out candles. Add some real cupcakes and some presents and you have yourself a party! We had Becky and Todd join us for cupcakes and after we all finished singing "Happy Birthday" to her she insisted that we sing it again (and relight the candles). LOL!
Happy Birthday, Itty! We love you!
The winner of the WRMK giveaway is Jenny D. Congratulations!
Jenny, please email me your full name and address and I will send the album to you on Monday.
The Scrapaholics Facebook page reached 400 "Likes" yesterday. How exciting! I think that calls for a giveaway, don't you? I am *this close* to finishing a couple new products, but in the mean time…
If you have been reading this blog for a while you know that I am an avid LOM'er. I won't lie, one of my favorite things about the system is the color coordinated albums. Color coordinated anything makes me happy. My four main category colors are pink, yellow, green and brown. I have also added red for my School of Life albums and cobalt blue for my P365 – Project Life – Daily Photos albums. Yesterday I decided that my Daily Photo albums really shouldn't be a separate color. Really, if everyday photos aren't "Things We Do" (which happen to be my yellow albums) then I don't know what is. By the way, my library doesn't look like this anymore. More on that coming soon!
What does this mean for you? I am giving away my gorgeous 12×12 WRMK Leather Cobalt 3-Ring album to one lucky blog reader. It is such a beautiful rich blue color. I kind of wish I had chosen it for one of my main category colors.

Zoë has the patience of a saint when it comes to her little sister. Eden is a sweet girl but she is a bit more, shall we say…dramatic, than her big sister, especially since she has reached the terrible two's. Zoë normally takes it all with a grain of salt, but last week she had had enough. The girls were having a tea party in the playroom and I head Zoë say, "That's it! I'm leaving!" and calmly walked into her room.
I silently giggled to myself and continued playing with Eden while Zoë cooled off in her room. As it turns out, Zoë wasn't cooling off in her room, she was packing. She emerged, suitcases packed, and told me that she was walking to Grammie's house and staying there until she was a grown-up because Eden was mean to her. She had her entire plan all figured out and she was surprisingly pleasant and reasonable about the whole situation. Just look at this picture!
I didn't discourage her plan because honestly I was so curious to see how it turn out. I even texted Kelly and asked him to please bring the wagon home with him so she could more easily transport her belongings to Spokane. Before she left us forever, Zoë agreed to one last interview. (Click on the image to start the video).
As you heard, Zoë agreed to stay with us until after bed time. Thankfully she changed her mind and decided to stay with us. She ran over to me, gave me a big hug, and with tears in her eyes said she was going to stay because she would miss her mommy if she left. <3
